Brexit and COVID have been blamed for delays and shortages in the supply of many things recently. From petrol to garden furniture, we’ve had to queue, search high and low, or wait for deliveries that haven’t appeared.

Now, according to the press, these supply issues are threatening to have an impact on Christmas products. We’re here to tell you that, as with every other year, phs Greenleaf Christmas tree and decorations are in plentiful supply.

Christmas is business as usual

The British Christmas Tree Growers Association (BCTGA) estimates that of the 8-10 million real Christmas trees bought in the UK each year, 1-3 million come from other European countries, which could cause a few problems this year as we all try to figure out new import rules following Brexit.

Don’t worry - as with all things at phs Greenleaf, we’ve put in place routines and strategies to ensure that our customers are not disrupted in these uncertain times. Our UK live tree supplier has ensured that they are well-stocked through their long-running sustainability program of planting 2 trees for every tree that is harvested.

By buying local, phs Greenleaf is not only minimising its carbon footprint but is also ensuring that import taxes are not an issue and transport is available for the short distance from farm to our Christmas depot. Yes, we really do have a dedicated Christmas depot!
